Some People Juggle Geese

So I guess I was watching three reality shows

With the announcement today that the Science Channel's An Idiot Abroad was their highest rated show of all time, I realized that I was actually watching three reality shows this season. An Idiot Abroad walks that fine line of humiliation humor for me. It's a BBC import from long time comedy partners Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant about sending their "moron" producer to see the seven wonders of the world. The hilarity comes from two fronts. One, seeing someone who has no appreciation whatsoever for the magnificence of what they're seeing and two, that same person being put in all sorts of awful situations related to the travel to those sites. That last bit is where it treads closely to my threshold of humiliation, but it's kind of  hard to feel sorry for our hero Karl in those situations. He certainly doesn't do anything to help himself.

Science Channel will run all eight (might be nine with a preview show and a wrap up show) episodes of An Idiot Abroad on April 1. Set your DVRs, kids, it's funny stuff.

NBC finale dates

So I was going to make a jokey post about how NBC announced their season finales and how I don't actually watch any NBC show (does anyone?), but it turns out I actually watch two shows on NBC. So for the record, Chuck has its finale on May 16 and 30 Rock ends its season on May 5. If you watch any other shows on NBC, the rest of the finale dates are here.

In other news, I've started watching Survivor again, bringing the current crop of reality shows I'm watching to two. I'm really enjoying this season of Top Chef as well. It's been riveting. It's been years since I watched Survivor, and it's just as fascinating as always. I think I burned out on it a while back, but coming back to it has been totally fun.

I feel like while I'm here I should say something about Charlie Sheen, but I just don't have the heart. It's never fun watching someone have a complete meltdown. I just feel bad for him.
